Ministries

We believe that as servants of Christ our commitment to our own Community starts at the steps of our church and radiates outward to our neighbors. We are therefore committed to serving our community with real efforts to improve the lives of those who are in our neighborhood by offering the help of our parish and the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ to reduce the suffering of those most in need in the heart of our ministry. Christ died that the sins of all may be forgiven, we ask your support to aid in our effort to restore the dignity of our neighborhood.

The Highland area of Shreveport constitutes a major part of the older portion of our town. With buildings dating from the late 19th century and with an abundance of historic homes, our neighborhood and our church rest as monuments to those who saw the potential of the Highland area and acted on that potential. Today we are a neighborhood in transition and it is up to us to determine whether that transition is positive or negative. Only through our commitment to this old and venerable neighborhood, can we fulfill the opportunity so strongly urged in scripture, "But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just." (Luke 14:13-14)
