Fasting Guidelines:
At the beginning of the Triodion of Lent (February 5-11) we do not fast at all.
During the following week we fast only on Wednesday and Friday.
In the week following Judgment Sunday we fast from meat, fish, eggs, wine and oil; milk and cheese are permitted.
Beginning with Clean Monday (February 27) through all of Great Lent we fast from meat, fish, eggs, wine and oil, and milk products.
On Wednesdays before receiving Holy Communion at the Presanctified Divine Liturgy, we fast from everything during the day until we receive the Sacrament (especially for persons with medical conditions, it is permitted to eat light breakfast or small lunch, before 12 Noon.)
